Nintendo and PlayStation both host massive digital presentations full of reveals as the fall gaming season provides another batch of games to review!
Nintendo Direct
Nintendo had one more general Direct in store for 2023 and with it came a new look at upcoming titles like Detective Pikachu Returns, Super Mario RPG, the formerly untitled Princess Peach game now called Princess Peach Showtime, and a few surprises that will make certain fans of a thousand year old door very happy.
For a full breakdown you can check out our recap of all the news from the direct and check out Social Lead Christian Buckley (that’s me!) and his reactions to the show on our channel.
State of Play
Coming off an underwhelming PlayStation Showcase earlier this summer, PlayStation’s State of Play presentation returned this week with a new look at DLC for this year’s Resident Evil 4 coming VERY soon, new Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 details, and a brand new trailer and release date for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth!
You can find a recap of all the details from the show on our site and check out reactions from our Social Lead joined by our Senior Content Manager Andrew Stretch!
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet launched to astronomical success late last year despite their performance issues and now GameFreak has released the first of two DLC packs for the games with The Teal Mask. Our reviewer for the base game, Andrew Stretch revisits the game and while the adventure is just as great, the performance is even worse. Check out his full review and see if it’s worth your time.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage Hands on Preview
Assassin’s Creed claims to be returning to form this fall with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, a game in the style of the classic formula. Lapsed Assassin’s Creed Fan Andrew Stretch got to go hands on with the game for a few hours and walked away quite optimistic about the game. You can check out his full preview now or check out his gameplay in a discussion video!
A Souls-like for fans of Pinocchio and Bloodborne
The hotly anticipated Souls-like Lies of P is about to hit gamepass, consoles and PC in just a few days and our resident FromSoftware fanatic Joseph Allen has his review ready for you.
