Weekly Gaming Recap - May 5th, 2023
Xbox drops another troubled AAA game, a great indie, and we went hands on with a brand new Star Wars game!
Redfall Red-Failed
In another unfortunate blow to the morale of the green brand’s fans, Redfall is another Xbox Series exclusive title launching with serious issues. Causing a hubbub a few weeks back after announcing it would launch on consoles locked to 30fps, the launch and reception of Redfall looks to be much more troubled than bugs and frame rates. The Head of Gaming at Microsoft, Phil Spencer, got candid about the state of Xbox, Redfall, and the future of the console this week and you can find a full recap on what he had to say to Xbox gamers below.
Game Pass Wins (Again)
While Xbox may continue to stumble when it comes to AAA releases, the latest partnered indie title to hit Xbox Game Pass, Ravenlok, has arrived and it is a quality experience. This fairy tale adventure game is full of “gorgeous environments” and charming interwoven quests you’ll progress as you navigate through them all. May the 4th Be With You…
Our Tabletop Editor, Giaco Furino, was sent an advance copy of the upcoming tabletop Star Wars game, Star Wars Shatterpoint from Atomic Mass and was left impressed with the build experience. For more on his early impressions of the game, and how the winning strategy is deeper than a fast paced skirmish, check out his full preview of the title!
